Principal's Message
Welcome to the Uplift Community High School website. We are proud of the amazing accomplishments of our students and staff. As our website is meant to be informative, we hope that you are inspired by our relentless pursuit of academic excellence, community involvement, and commitment to social justice.
We envision a school that is college preparatory, supports community involvement, and is committed to working for social justice.

We will provide a relevant student-centered curriculum focused on social justice, creating an academically nurturing environment that promotes critical and creative thinking, instills pride and respect for others and self, and equips our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

As a young girl living on the Westside of Chicago, I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I just didn’t know how it would be possible so I played, “Rock Teacher”. After graduating from John Milton Gregory Elementary and Charles P. Steinmetz High School, I attended Southern Illinois University for my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and was presented with two Master’s Degrees from Chicago State University (School Guidance/Counseling and Education Administration). Once I graduated from Southern, I went back to Gregory to teach fourth grade in the same classroom that I was a student. I decided that I wanted to help students on a different level so I became a Counselor. After Counseling for many years, I became the founding Principal of Uplift Community High School.

Uplift’s story is similar in that it was born out of many hopes and dreams coming together with a common purpose. Our collective goal was to prepare our students to enter and be successful in post secondary education, equipped to accomplish their individual life’s aspirations while promoting social justice.
I am proud to announce that we have established a tradition for 100% of our Senior Class being accepted to post-secondary institutions across the country!
As our quest continues to be the best high school in the city of Chicago, we could use additional support from our parents and community partners. The ALSC and NCLB Parent PAC welcome your presence at our regularly scheduled meetings.

Lastly, as you review our website and learn about our academic and extra-curricular activities, please feel free to email me with any feedback to help us accomplish our goals.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Stephanie Y. Moore
Principal
